Jorogumo Art Print

Jorōgumo is a Japanese Spider Yokai that is part woman, part spider.

She lures men in with her beauty before ensnaring them in a trap and then feasting on their flesh.

My take on Jorōgumo is inspired by Japanese Oiran or high class courtesans. Oiran had the luxury of selecting their clients and I love that this translates to a spider selecting its prey.
