About

‘Handsculpted dolls by Kelton Ching. Inspired Asian myth, beauty and the macabre.’

I have always loved dolls and especially Asian Ball Joint Dolls - Hans Bellmer, Clive Barker, Junji Ito and Takato Yamamoto were huge sources of inspiration to me in my formative years.

My journey as a doll sculptor began in late 2023  after I decided to finally take the leap into doll making.

Coming from a background in Fine Arts as a painter and sculptor and over 12 years of experience in the film industry as an FX Makeup Artist, I seek to share my unique vision for 1/4 scale dolls that are wholly my own.

My art has always expressed my fascination with sculpture and the human form. Themes of beauty and horror permeate my work.

Weaving in my Chinese cultural heritage - Cheng being my last name in Mandarin and drawing from Asian myths and folk tales I grew up with, I desire to introduce viewers and collectors to a world that is simultaneously in bloom and sickly sweet with decay.
